Trick Shot | Make Three Balls In One Shot!

Shoot the cue ball into the 1-ball. Both the 1-ball and 2-ball will go into side pocket 'B'. The cue ball will draw back and make the other ball in pocket 'E'.

Trick Shot - Make 3 Balls At Once!

Setup the Trick Shot

Make sure the cue ball is frozen to the 1-ball. The 2-ball is exactly 2 ball's width from the 1-ball. The gap is shown with ghost balls 'A' & 'B' drawn into the diagram. There is another ball hanging near side pocket 'E'.

How to Make Three Balls at Once

It looks impossible at first glance, but the 1-ball does go into pocket 'B'!

Strike the cue ball with about 1-2 tips of draw. The cue ball initially follows through and stays frozen to the 1-ball until it hits the 2-ball. At that point, the cue ball pushes the 1-ball forward and the 1-ball then stays frozen to the back of the 2-ball, and both go into the side pocket.

This trick shot is similar to the perpetual motion pendulums that swing the silver balls and they bounce back and forth. The cue ball and 1-ball are frozen moving forward (2 ball's worth of momentum). After they contact the 2-ball, you need to keep enough forward momentum for 2 ball's to roll forward, which is why both the 1 & 2 balls roll forward. The draw on the cue ball pulls it back again and it makes the object ball in side pocket 'E'.

'Tricks' of the Shot

The keys to this shot are to make sure all of the balls are lined up perfectly straight as it must be exact ('close enough' will not work). Also, when striking the cue ball, no side English can be used at all and you must hit the cue ball straight into the 1-ball (this must also be exact).

As with anything, Trick Shots take practice. Keep practicing the shot to get the feel of exactly how to set it up and make the shot!
